According to a simple definition, diagram refers to a two dimensional figure which assists an individual in the visual representation of a situation or process. The diagrams can be three dimensional as well, depending upon the complexity of the task. The visual representation achieved through a diagram is symbolic in nature. It is also referred to as a graphical representation of a process or situation.
